Around eight million people across the Pacific and Timor-Leste lack access to reliable and affordable energy. Many live in remote areas, are unable to connect to the electricity grid and rely on costly fuels like diesel for their basic electricity needs.

Pacific Island countries are also highly vulnerable to climate change, facing rising sea levels, extreme weather and changes to ocean ecosystems.

REnew Pacific is an Australian Government $75m investment to tackle these challenges, delivered by the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific (AIFFP) through the Pacific Climate Infrastructure Financing Partnership (PCIFP).

Over five years (2025-2029), REnew Pacific will deliver locally-led, inclusive and sustainable projects that provide off-grid and community-scale renewable energy in remote and rural area across the Pacific and Timor-Leste. By partnering with investors and organisations from across the private sector, community organisations and government agencies, the program aims to power community development through access to clean, affordable electricity.

Do you have an idea to help deliver sustainable renewable energy to rural and remote communities in the Pacific and Timor-Leste?
