Solomon Islands leaders collaborate with REnew Pacific to plan local program

This week, more than 50 Solomon Islands leaders from government, industry, NGOs, and communities met with our team in Honiara to discuss REnew Pacific, with workshops focused on identifying how the REnew Pacific program in the Solomon Islands could respond to its unique needs, while building climate resilience and supporting sustainable development in local communities.

Each REnew Pacific project across the region will be required to demonstrate how its off-grid renewable energy solution will enhance livelihoods, improve the wellbeing of remote and rural communities and ensure that outcomes are sustained and owned by the local communities themselves.

That’s why one of REnew Pacific’s key priorities is to collaborate with stakeholders across the Pacific and Timor-Leste to ensure the success and long-term impact of the program. We look forward to continuing these planning sessions with key local stakeholders across the region in the months ahead.

đź’ˇ Got a great idea to bring off-grid renewable energy to remote communities across the Pacific and Timor-Leste?

If you’re a business, NGO, community organisation, academic institution or government agency that operates in the Pacific or Timor-Leste, or has a partner that’s based in the region, we want to hear from you!
